Taller Abierto is offering a workshop in which visitors can create a 3-D work with the materials provided them: scissors, glue, an assortment of other recycled materials, as a work of art.
The collective Taller Abierto was founded in 1984 on the initiative of a group of painters with the support of the Municipal Board of the Central District of Madrid. The idea was to hold ongoing cultural activities on the streets for the citizens of Madrid.
Its goal is to develop and put into practice the project of turning a square in the Madrid of the Austrias, its surroundings, into a site of permanent exhibition and of hosting and encounters between art and artists outside the commercial art circuits. It allows all interested painters and artists to display their works to citizens in a popular way outdoors, as well as to share with people the different art techniques and painting in general.
