Beyond classical instruments, there are bands that dream up and construct their own instruments in the most authentic spirit. Sound it yourself.
A relaxed attitude and loads of talent is what define the artists on the Sound it yourself stage, for whom the means – the instrument – is as important as the end – the music. They will show us how we can construct musical propositions that are both solid and avant-garde using everyday objects and heaps of imagination.
On the Sound it yourself stage, you can: discover Fela Borbone, a pioneer in the reuse of discarded items for musical purposes; listen to the music created by the modified toys of Los Caballos de Düsseldorf; dance with the lo-fi tropical electronics of Meneo and his Game Boy/synthesiser; and discover the post-punk with pottery instruments by Fiera, on a night devoted to musicians who prefer to do things – and it was never more accurate – their way..
